TLU Men/Women register five combined wins at D3 Challenge track & field meet

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Men's and Women's Track & Field teams won a combined five events at their home event, the D3 Challenge, contested Saturday at TLU's Bulldog Stadium.
 
TLU went 1-2-3 in the men's shot put with Scottie Reyes, Zachary Herman and Weston Geiger capturing top honors. Reyes won the event with a heave of 15.65 meters (51-4 1/4).
 
Reyes also won the men's discus. He produced a mark of 42.86 (140-7). He was third in the hammer throw at 45.08 (147-10).
 
Tia Hart won the women's shot put with a toss of 11.44 meters (37 feet, 6-1/2 inches). She was third in the javelin (29.24 / 95-11).
 
Josiah Damiano won the men's 100 with a time of 10.84 seconds. Running in heat two, Damiano edged Edashall Konah of Hardin-Simmons (running in heat one) by .01 of a second. Damiano also was fourth in the 200 with a time of 22.17.
 
Arrion Knight captured the men's 110 hurdles with a time of 15.85. Knight also was fourth in the 400 hurdles in 58.71 and ran on the Bulldogs' 4x100 relay that finished third in 42.40.
 
Dejah Carr posted a runner-up finish in the women's hammer throw (37.83 meters / 124-1) and a third-place result in the discus (36.69 / 120-4).
 
Courtney Burnett placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 10.27 meters (33-8 1/2).
 
In the women's 400, Jackie Mora took second with a time of 1:02.30, and teammate Ja'Keia Williams finished third in 1:02.89.
 
Caeli Taylor grabbed a third-place showing in the 800. She crossed the line in 2:30.14. Taylor also finished third in the 1,500 with a time of 5:16.26.
 
Caimen McDonough registered a third-place showing in the men's high jump. McDonough cleared 1.87 meters (6-1 1/2). Troy Stephenson posted a runner-up finish in the javelin with a toss of 49.67 (162-11).
