TLU Men's Track & Field posts runner-up team finish at SCAC Championships

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Track & Field collected a runner-up team finish at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship, hosted by TLU at Bulldog Stadium and its adjacent throws facilities.
 
The Bulldogs scored 207 points to Trinity's 246. TLU and Trinity were well ahead of the remaining six conference teams. Colorado College was third with 106 points.
 
TLU sophomore Ezrael Powell was named the Men's Athlete of the Meet after he totaled 31.5 points.
 
Powell picked up a win in the 200-meter dash and ran a leg on the victorious 4x100 relay team. He also added a second-place showing in the long jump, was third in the 100, fourth in the triple jump, and sixth in the high jump. He is the third consecutive Bulldog to earn the award and the fourth overall since 2015.
 
Caimen McDonough won the high jump with a clearance of 1.97 (6-5.50). He also took third in the long jump (Sunday) and was third in the triple jump (Saturday).
 
The Bulldogs won the 4x100 in a time of 42.25 seconds.
 
Arrion Knight captured a conference championship in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.26. Knight was second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 55.97.
 
Josiah Damiano and Powell took second and third in the 100. Damiano crossed the line in 10.90, and Powell recorded a time of 10.97.
 
Scottie Reyes won his second SCAC title of the meet with a win Sunday in the discus. Reyes won with a throw of 47.70 meters (156 feet, 6 inches).
 
Chase Cook was second in the discus with a toss of 44.61 (146-4). 
 
The Bulldogs were second in the 4x400 relay, and Dillan Wendel placed third in the 800 in a time of 1:57.75. Ryan Geiger picked up a third-place finish in the men's javelin with a mark of 50.68 (166-03).
