Bulldogs Compete in DBU Old Glory Gallop

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's and women's cross country took on the Old Glory Gallop hosted by Dallas Baptist University at Lynn Creek Park. With elements of the Texas State Fair as a backdrop, the meet hosted a massive field that saw a combined 819 runners between the two meets with runners spanning all three NCAA Divisions as well as NAIA schools and Texas community colleges.

Men's cross country took the course first with freshman Angel Miguel Hernandez (Luling/Luling) led the Bulldogs with an 108th place finish - tenth amongst Division-III runners - with a time of 26:19 in the 8K. Lucas Falcon (Victoria/Victoria East) tallied a 141st place finish with a time of 26:54. Wesley Holub (Wallis/Brazos) and Isaiah Arriaga (Sugar Land/Dulles) finished in the top half of the race and Rees Snedaker (Wallis/Brazos) wrapped the Bulldogs top five pack in 222nd place. As a team, the men finished 25th in a 41 team field.

On the women' side, Mackenzie Combs (New Braunfels/Canyon) was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line in the 418 runner field, finishing 221st with a time of 20:41. Gianna Kennedy (El Paso/El Paso) followed close behind finishing 223rd at 20:43. Audrey Malbrough (Selma/Veterans Memorial), Magdalyn Brown (San Antonio/Madison), and Alexis Albert (Falls City/Falls City) wrapped the Bulldogs pack as they finished 35th amongst 41 schools.

Texas Lutheran travels to San Antonio to compete in the OLLU Westside Classic hosted by Our Lady of the Lake on Oct. 12th for one final tuneup ahead of the 2024 SCAC Championships in November that will be hosted by Centenary College in Louisiana.
