Four Bulldogs Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

SEGUIN, Texas -- Four Bulldogs earned CSC (College Sports Communicators) Academic All-District honors for their athletic and academic achievements. The volleyball student-athletes honored were Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair), Richelle Guerra (Brownsville/Rivera), Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy), and Victoria Powell (Richmond/Fulshear).

To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and compete in 90 percent of the institution's sets played or start in at least 66 percent of the school's total matches during the 2024 season. Freshmen are not eligible.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as finalists to advance to the national ballot are designated with an asterisk. Those who are selected for first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 14, 2025.

Chew again showed her versatility at setter in 2024, nearly hitting 500 assists with 477 while adding 250 digs, five kills, a block and 18 service aces. Chew finished her senior season with 13 double-doubles. This is the senior's third career All-District nod.

Guerra comes off a sophomore season that saw her finish with 291 digs, 22 assists, and 23 service aces. Guerra ranked third on the team in digs in 2024.

Nedd, who earned All-SCAC First Team honors for the first time in her career, ended the season as the kill leader with 328, averaging 3.28 per set. She notched double-figure points in 21 matches this season with 12 double-doubles. Nedd finished 15th nationally in attacks per set with an 11.93 average. Nedd also finished fourth on the team with 278 digs and was second on the team with 31 service aces. Nedd repeats as an All-District selection after earning the honors last season.

Powell put up a team-high 62 blocks and sent over 150 kills on an efficient .330 hitting percentage. Powell ranked second on the team and third in the SCAC in hitting percentage. The middle blocker also tallied 25 service aces, which ranked third on the team.
