Coldewey Garners AVCA All-America Honors

SEGUIN, Texas -- For the first time since 2010, Texas Lutheran volleyball has an All-American. Texas Lutheran senior libero Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) was tabbed All-America Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Wednesday.

Coldewey becomes the first All-American under the leadership of head coach Phyllis Fowler and the first since TLU Hall of Famer Jessica Stetler in 2010. Coldewey is just the third AVCA All-American in program history and the first libero to earn the honors.

Coldewey, a native of Floresville, Texas, earns her first career All-America honor following a season that saw her named SCAC Backrow Player of the Year also for the first time in her career. Coldewey, who averaged 6.31 digs and 1.30 assists per set with a .943 reception percentage led a Bulldogs defense that led NCAA Division-III with an average of 21.82 digs per set. The Bulldog libero also received All-SCAC First Team honors for the first time. The senior from was named SCAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season.

Coldewey ends her collegiate career third in program history in digs per set (5.32), while her 2024 total of 6.31 digs per set ranks third best in program history in a single-season.

Coldewey had 18 matches with 20 or more digs this season. The senior libero recorded her 1,000th career dig this season and recorded a career-high 39 digs in a match last week against Colorado College. She added 130 assists, served 49 aces, and tallied four kills to push Texas Lutheran to their sixth straight SCAC Tournament appearance. She finished the 2024 season ranked seventh in NCAA Division-III in digs per set and 18th in total digs with 631 digs.
