Volleyball Sweeps Concordia (TX)

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball swept Concordia (TX), 25-12, 25-14, 25-20, in their first matchup of the 2024 season on Friday at Concordia Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs (8-5, 2-1 SCAC) will square off with Schreiner for the second time this season on Saturday at noon in Kerrville. The match will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.

Brylie Nedd (Sealy/Sealy) led all players with 13 kills, while hitting .375 in the match. Ryann Ely (Montgomery/Concordia Lutheran) added nine kills.

Victoria Powell (Richmond/Fulshear) had six kills on just 12 swings and tallied two blocks. Nadia Dunn (Houston/Pearland) added five kills, three digs, and a block.

Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) finished with a match-high 19 assists and ten digs for 11th double-double in 13 matches this season. Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) led the match with 27 digs and added three assists and an ace.

Texas Lutheran cruised to a 25-12 win in the first set, hitting .333 and holding the Tornados to a -.030 hitting percentage.

The Bulldogs cruised yet again in the second set, holding Concordia to .043 hitting percentage.

The Bulldogs opened the final set with an 8-1 run and never looked back, closing out the sweep with a 25-20 set win - holding their opponents to a .000 hitting percentage.
