Mixon Named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior outside hitter Emily Mixon (Woodville/Woodville) was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the conference announced.

Mixon guided the Bulldogs to a 4-0 week - leading Texas Lutheran in kills in three out of four matches - as TLU swept through the week as a part of their six match sweep streak. Mixon has been an instrumental force behind the Bulldogs six-match sweep streak - leading the way with 39 kills over four matches (3.25 per set) on an impressive .405 hitting percentage, which included a .441 mark in conference play. Mixon paced the Bulldogs in kills in three of the team's four matches over the course of last week, and was one off leading in all four matches.

The Offensive Player of the Week honor is the second of the season for the Bulldogs after not earning the honor since 2019 entering the season.

Texas Lutheran concludes their four match homestand with a non-conference match against Our Lady of the Lake on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The match will be streamed on TLU's YouTube Channel, TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
