AUSTIN, TX -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball (8-6) cruised to a 3-0 win over NAIA's Huston-Tillotson, 25-12, 25-22, 25-13, Wednesday afternoon at Mary E. Branch Gymnasium.

Texas Lutheran hit.250 in the match and held Huston-Tillotson to a .000 hitting percentage.

Kacie Hall (Buda/Hays) led the Bulldogs with 7 kills while adding 2 solo blocks and a dig. Hayden Smyers (Needville/Needville), Madison Weisinger (Friendswood/Friendswood), Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley), and Peyton Sulak (Needville/Needville) all had 4 kills in the match.

Faith Coldewey (Floresville/Floresville) finished with 10 assists, 3 service aces, and 3 digs while Smyers led the Bulldogs with 11 digs.

A string of plays from upperclassmen Madison Weisinger, Kacie Hall, and Hayden Smyers helped the Bulldogs get out to an emphatic start in a 25-12 first set win. The Bulldogs fell behind due to a few issues with the infrastructure at Huston-Tillotson in the second set but battled back from a 6 point deficit to secure the second set 25-22. Coach Fowler cycled in a litany of players in the third set that made for a team effort as the Bulldogs pulled away winning the third set in decisive fashion 25-13 to secure the sweep.

After Wednesday's non-conference matchup, the Bulldogs will turn their attention to conference play as they head to Houston this weekend to face 5th-ranked Colorado College & St. Thomas (TX) Saturday at 3 and 6 PM for their second SCAC Divisional weekend.
