SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball was swept in three sets by Chapman University 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 Friday night in San Antonio, Texas to wrap up their appearance in the Trinity National Invitational.
The Bulldogs (6-4) were led by juniors Maddy Schultz (Richmond/Needville) and Paige Day (San Antonio/Reagan) who both finished the night with a team high 9 kills. Schultz also led the team with 10 points on the night. Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) led the team with 20 digs and freshman Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) added 11 digs to go along with 7 kills. Freshman Julia Chew (Cypress/Cy-Fair) finished with a career high 21 assists.
As a team, Texas Lutheran hit .165 with 41 kills, 67 digs, and one ace. Chapman hit .191 with 43 kills, 75 digs, and two aces.
The Bulldogs will travel to Colorado Springs, Colorado for the SCAC Divisional next week. They will face #22 Southwestern (TX) & #3 Trinity (TX) Friday at 12 & 4 PM CST.
