Volleyball sweeps Huntingdon to wrap 2-0 Friday

MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- The Texas Lutheran Volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the weekend and 4-1 on the season with a sweep of Huntingdon College, 25-12, 25-15, 25-13, Friday afternoon at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN as a part of the 2021 Rhodes College Classic.

Sophomore Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) finished with 11 kills and 13 points - leading the Bulldogs in both.

Freshman Shavonne Respondek (San Antonio/Madison) had a day finishing with 19 assists, 7 service aces and 11 digs - leading the Bulldogs in both assists and service aces while only trailing senior Lexi Morris (Victoria/Victoria West) in digs (21).

After trailing 3-1 in the first set, the Bulldogs went on a run that saw them flip the momentum taking an 8-4 lead in the first set and never trailing from that point forward. The Bulldogs would lead wire to wire in the second and third sets as they cruised to their 4th victory of the season and their third of the sweep variety.
