Texas Lutheran falls in two conference contests at Southwestern

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran dropped a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's volleyball matches Friday at Southwestern University.
 
TLU fell in four sets in each match. The Bulldogs lost 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20 in the early match and 24-26, 25-22, 25-17, 25-15 in the late match.
 
TLU is now 1-9 overall and 1-9 in the SCAC. Southwestern is 5-3 overall and 5-3 in the SCAC.
 
In the early match, Tanyse Moehrig led the Bulldogs with 11 kills on 30 attempts. She added a block solo and two block assists.
 
Kacie Hall recorded 11 assists and five total blocks (four block assists and a solo block). Hall also had seven kills.
 
Madison Weisinger contributed seven kills and eight total blocks (seven block assists and a block solo).
 
TLU had 12 total blocks in the first match.
 
Lexi Morris led TLU in digs with 21 in the first match.
 
In the second contest, Moehrig contributed 14 kills on 34 attempts (with just two errors) for a .353 hitting percentage.
 
Hayden Smyers added 12 kills, 14 digs, and two aces. Morris and Paige Day each had 15 digs.
 
TLU hosts Trinity University on Friday, April 2 for a pair of matches. Match times are 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
