
TLU senior Jaci Chambers named to Women's Volleyball All-SCAC Second Team
SEGUIN, Texas – Texas Lutheran senior setter/defensive specialist Jaci Chambers (Baytown/Goose Creek Memorial) has been named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Women's Volleyball All-SCAC Second Team.
Chambers, a four-year letter-winner for the Bulldogs, helped TLU to a 20-16 overall record in the 2019 regular season.
With action still to come in the 2019 SCAC Volleyball Championship in Seguin, TLU already has won 11 more matches this season than last season, when the Bulldogs were 9-21.
Chambers, the SCAC Backrow Player of the Year in 2018, moved to setter in 2019. She played in 35 of 36 matches and averaged 5.50 assists and 4.12 digs per match.
Chambers also served 30 aces and collected 107 kills.
For her career, Chambers has 153 kills, 1,673 assists, 2,089 digs and 87 aces.
The Bulldogs went 9-9 in SCAC play this year and qualified for the 2019 SCAC Championship as the No. 6 seed.

Coaches voted for 16 players for All‐SCAC with 16 points awarded for a first‐place vote, 15 points for a second‐place vote, 14 points for a third‐place vote, etc., down to one point for a 16th‐place vote. Player‐ of‐the‐Year, Freshman‐of‐the‐Year and Backrow Player‐of‐the‐Year voting were done on a vote‐by‐vote basis, as was Coach‐of‐the‐Year. In all cases, coaches could not vote for themselves or their own players.
