Coach Holland's Comments: "We have a very young group of ladies and I'm extremely proud of their opening performances.

Notable performances for the women came from a trio of freshmen with Leilani Lopez in the 4x100, 100 and 200 with big PRs, Kristin Lucero in the 1,500 and 5K also with big PRs, and Julissa Rodriguez in the throwing events- most notably the shot put - in which she had 3 PRs subsequently broken with each throw she threw in the event. The female 100 hurdlers led by freshmen Taylor Norrell and Ciara Cavazos, had a quick start to the outdoor season as well.

We don't compete again until our home meet in three weeks, so we are going to put the work in and continue to improve in all of our events. It was a great start, and the excitement is there! Can't wait to see how the next one goes!
