Jackie Mora collects second SCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor
SEGUIN, Texas -- Jackie Mora, a first-year student-athlete from Brownsville, Texas, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for a second time this season.
Mora is honored this week for her performance in the 400 meters at the largely NCAA Division II Cactus Cup at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The windy, rainy day wasn't great for times, but she managed to win the event in 1 minute, 0.52 seconds.
In addition to her Week 8 honor, Mora was the SCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week in Week 1.
Mora and her Bulldog teammates compete this Saturday and Sunday in the SCAC Track & Field Championships, hosted by TLU at Bulldog Stadium and the surrounding throws venues.
TLU will have live video and live stats on tlubulldogs.com for both days of the conference meet.
First year Cassandra Williams of Trinity made her sprint debut at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Cactus Cup. She ran the 200 meters in 27.39 and the 400 meters in 62.57. These marks placed her third and second at the meet.
