Lyssy, Taylor with Top 10 finishes at Angelo State's David Noble Relays

SAN ANGELO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's Lydia Lyssy (discus) and Caeli Taylor (1,500 meters) each posted Top 10 finishes Friday in their events at the Angelo State David Noble Relays.
 
The field of competitors at the David Noble Relays consisted largely of NCAA Division II student-athletes.
 
Lyssy made the discus finals and took seventh overall with a toss of 36.46 meters (119 feet, 7 inches). She was the top scoring athlete in the discus from NCAA Division III.
 
Lyssy moved up to 65th in the national DIII rankings for the discus.
 
Taylor ran in the 1,500 finals and took eighth overall with a time of 4 minutes, 58.32 seconds. She set a personal best in the event and was the top (and only) NCAA DIII student-athlete to race in the 1,500 final.
 
Taylor is now 93rd nationally in the latest NCAA DIII rankings in the 1,500.
 
Ja'Keia Williams collected a pair of Top 20 finishes with her times in the 100 and 200. Williams was 20th in the 100 with a time of 12.92, and she was 17th in the 200 in 26.82.
 
Williams moved up to 95th nationally in the 100 and to 97th nationally in the 200.
 
TLU competes this Friday and Saturday in San Antonio at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational.
