Texas Lutheran Finishes Season Against Austin College

WACO, Texas -- The No. 10-seeded Texas Lutheran women's tennis team was defeated 4-0 by No. 7 seed Austin College in the first round of the SCAC Championships on Thursday at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center on the campus of Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

The 'Roos (6-8) quickly went up 2-0, sweeping the Bulldogs in doubles competition and taking a singles point by default.

The 'Roos would quickly move to 4-0, winning matches in the #4 and #5 singles spot in straight sets to clinch the match - leaving the remainder of the matches unfinished.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a 3-9 record.

Thursday's match served as senior Mercedes Tirado's (Seguin/Navarro) final collegiate match. We thank her for all of her contributions to the Texas Lutheran tennis program.
