Women's Tennis Sweeps Sul Ross State, 6-0
SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis earned their second straight 6-0 victory over Division-II opponent, Sul Ross State, Saturday morning at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center.
Texas Lutheran improves to 2-5 on the season while Sul Ross falls to 0-6 as the Bulldogs swept through doubles and singles competition.
The teams of sophomore Lindsay Beville (New Braunfels/Canyon) and freshman Lucero Alvarado and junior Kassidee Webb (Castroville/Medina Valley) and freshman Serenity Cabrera (San Antonio/New Braunfels) got the Bulldogs rolling, winning their doubles matches by scores of 6-0.
Beville won her #1 singles match, 6-0, 6-1, while Alvarado, Webb, and Cabrera swept through the competition winning their matches 6-0, 6-0. Mercedes Tirado (Seguin/Navarro) completed the sweep with her 6-3,6-3 singles victory.
The Bulldogs will continue to face high level competition as Texas Lutheran welcomes Division-I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to the ORTC on Thursday, April 3, at 11:30 AM.
