Bulldogs Fall to Sul Ross State, 5-4

ALPINE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis dropped their road non-conference match to Sul Ross State, 5-4, Saturday morning in Alpine to fall to 2-9 on the season.

The team of Lindsay Beville (New Braunfels/Canyon) and Cooper Lindstrom (San Antonio/TMI Epsicopal) would pick up their first doubles victory of the season winning their match, 8-2. 

The Bulldogs would trail 2-1 entering singles competition.

In singles competition, it would be Lindsay Beville, Mercedes Tirado (Seguin/Navarro), and Abbie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) who would earn Texas Lutheran's three singles victories on Saturday - winning their matches in straight sets to tie the match 4-4. The Bulldogs would lose by default in the No. 6 spot to drop the match.

Up next, Texas Lutheran will enjoy their Spring Break before returning to SCAC play as they travel to Houston to face the University of St. Thomas Celts on Saturday, March 23. First serve is set for 1 PM.
