Bulldogs Cruise Past Austin College, 7-2

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran women's tennis earned a 7-2 victory over Austin College on Saturday in a SCAC women's tennis match at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center. The win marks the first overall win and first conference win of the season.

Texas Lutheran improves to 1-7 on the season and 1-0 within league play. Austin College falls to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

With the 'Roos only having three players, the Bulldogs won two out of three doubles and three out of six doubles points by default.

The Speyrer sisters, Abbie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) and Allie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) won their doubles match, 8-4, for their first win of the season as a team.

Freshman Lindsay Beville (New Braunfels/Canyon) took care of business in her singles contest winning 6-0, 6-0 to win her second straight singles match and her third overall this season.

Texas Lutheran will welcome St. Mary University (KS) to Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center on Monday, March 4, at 3 PM for non-conference action.
