Enloe Shines as TLU Competes in Day Two of ITA Southwest Regionals

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's tennis team competed in day two of the 2022 ITA Southwest Regional Championships hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas on Friday.

Senior Kaitlyn Enloe (Seguin/Seguin) picked up Texas Lutheran's first two singles wins of the Regional with a three-set, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 victory in the first round of Flight D. Enloe would carry the momentum into a second round, 6-3, 6-0, straight sets victory to push into Saturday morning's semifinal matches.

Victoria Gonzalez (Harlingen/Harlingen) dropped her opening match in singles competition 0-6, 2-6 but would follow with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the consolation bracket to stay alive for Saturday's semifinal match.

Elena Brancaleon (San Antonio/Louis D. Brandeis) and Paula Acosta (Katy/Cinco Ranch) dropped their opening round match in doubles competition, 8-0. The team of Allie Speyrer (Shallowater/Shallowater) and Kayleigh Gardner (El Campo/El Campo) also dropped their opening round match in Flight B, 8-1. Kaitlyn Enloe carried her singles momentum into doubles action, teaming with Victoria Gonzalez to win their opening round matchup 8-1.

The ITA Southwest Regional Championships continue on Saturday with the Bulldogs competing in singles and doubles competition.
