TLU Tennis kicks off Fall season in St. Mary's Classic

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Texas Lutheran Men's and Women's Tennis kicked off their fall season last weekend (9/10-9/11) as they traveled to St. Mary's University for the St. Mary's Invitational. 

The tournament featured teams from all three NCAA levels including: Incarnate Word, Trinity (TX), Southwestern, St. Mary's, and Howard Payne amongst others in the flighted tournament.

The team of Kaitlyn Enloe and Elena Brancaleon picked up a victory vs. Howard Payne in the top flight in Women's doubles. The team of Bailey Denton and Baylee Parrott added another Women's Doubles in the second flight.

In singles action, Brancaleon picked up a win in the top flight while Kaitlyn Enloe added an additional TLU victory in the second flight.

Men's Tennis battled a number of no shows and injuries throughout the field in both singles and doubles but when discussing both women's and men's teams performances Coach John Strahl stated, "We made the most of our opportunity to get better in this opening tournament and will build from this heading into the next one."

Tennis will be in action again September 24-25th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) regionals in San Antonio.
