Texas Lutheran's 2021 season ends with 5-0 loss in SCAC quarterfinal

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Tennis ended its 2021 season with a 5-0 loss to the University of St. Thomas in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championship quarterfinal.
 
St. Thomas, the No. 3 seed, improved to 5-7 overall and advanced to face No. 2 seed Trinity in the SCAC semifinal.
 
The Bulldogs, the No. 6 seed, finished the year at 0-11 overall.
 
St. Thomas won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, and 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
 
The Celts won singles matches at No. 5 and No. 3 singles to secure the victory.
 
The match originally was scheduled for Friday, but it was moved up to Thursday to get ahead of inclement weather forecast to hit the area on Friday.
