Texas Lutheran Women's Tennis now 3-1 overall after convincing win at Centenary (La.)

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Texas Lutheran Women and Men's Tennis each posted team victories Sunday at Centenary College of Louisiana. The TLU Women won 9-0, and the TLU Men took a 7-2 victory.
 
The TLU Women improved to 3-1 overall, dropping just one team match on the four-game road trip to East Texas and Louisiana.
 
The TLU Men moved to 2-2 overall with Sunday's win.
 
Against Centenary in the women's match, Madison Starr collected a victory at No. 3 singles. She prevailed in a match-deciding 10-point tiebreaker after the players split the first two sets. Starr won the 10-point tiebreaker 10-8.
 
Samantha Stafford and Mary Eby won at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, in straight sets.

Liz Perkins captured an 8-1 win at No. 4 singles. Centenary did not field players at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
 
In doubles, Stafford and Kaitlyn Enloe and Perkins and Bailey Denton combined to drop only four games at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively.
 
In the men's match, Alex Talley, Matthew Stephenson, Joshua Bowman and Quintin Johnson recorded straight-set victories in singles play. Bowman and Johnson won without dropping a game.
 
In the three men's doubles matches, the Bulldogs dropped a combined six games in the three wins.
 
TLU's next matches are set for next Saturday at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. The matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts.
