Simien Repeats as SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- The accolades continue to pile up for Texas Lutheran women's soccer's Alyssa Simien (San Antonio/Warren) as the junior forward picked up her second straight selection as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

This marks Simien's fourth career league offensive player of the week honor. The San Antonio native was previously tabbed as SCAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 26 and Oct. 24, 2022, as well as Sept. 4 2023.

Simien added two goals and an assist to her early season tally as the Bulldogs went 1-0-1 on their west coast road trip defeating Caltech and tying Chapman. Simien would score a goal in each match and add an assist against the Chapman Panthers, her first of the season.

Simien currently leads the SCAC in goals (4) and points (9) through the first two weeks of the 2023 season.

Simien and the Bulldogs return to Seguin on Friday to continue their non-conference schedule against Howard Payne (3-1-0). The game will kick off at 7 PM and can be streamed on TLU's YouTube Channel, TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
