TLU Women's Soccer Falls to Chapman

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran women's soccer team (0-2-1) fell 2-1 to the Chapman University Panthers (2-2-0) Friday night at Gustafson Field.

The Panthers scored the first two goals - one in the 25th minute and later in the 80th minute. The Bulldogs would finally break through scoring in the 84th minute with Alyssa Simien (San Antonio/Warren) netting her second goal in as many matches.

The Panthers controlled possession for 55 percent of the allotted time.

Chapman held a tight 14-11 advantage in shots but Texas Lutheran would hold the advantage in shots on goal, 8-6, and corners, 4-3.

Charleigh Phipps (Dripping Springs/Dripping Springs) made three saves in-goal for the Bulldogs while Elena Rivera (New Braunfels/Canyon) made one save - each would allow one goal on the night.
