Quartet of Bulldogs Named to WGCA All-American Scholar Team

CORAL SPRINGS, FL -- Texas Lutheran women's golfers Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word), Braydee Frederick (Normangee/Normangee), Audre Garza (New Braunfels/Canyon), and Jacqueline Springs (Seguin/Navarro) were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, the organization announced Thursday.

All four Bulldogs maintained an overall cumulative GPA of 3.5-or-higher and played in at least 50% of the team's competitions during the 2022-23 campaign in order to qualify for the honor.

The announcement marked the first time since 2020 that two-or-more TLU golfers were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team, with four earning the honor in 2020. Frederick and Garza's selections were their second to the team and it was Flores and Springs' first All-American Scholar selections.

Flores also earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC) in May.

Texas Lutheran women's golf finished sixth at the 2023 SCAC Tournament led by Wynter Flores's 15th place finish.
