Wynter Flores Awarded SCAC Golfer of the Week Honors

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior Wynter Flores (San Antonio/Incarnate Word) has been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Flores earned the honor after finishing with a two-day total of 164 to earn a 17th-place finish in the 48-player field at the Tempest Intercollegiate hosted by LeTourneau University. Her final round 77 not only represented a 10-shot improvement from her opening round score but catapulted her six places up the individual leaderboard as the Bulldogs lept two teams on Tuesday and finished in sixth place.

This marks the first time that Flores has received the SCAC golfer of the week honor. Flores earns the honor in her second tournament back after missing all of the 2021-22 season due to injury.

Flores and Texas Lutheran return to action next week as they compete in the Alamo Classic. The event, hosted by Trinity University, will be played Oct. 10-11 at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
