Four Bulldogs claim WGCA All-American Scholar awards
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Four Texas Lutheran women's golfers - Summer Swift(Fentress/San Marcos), Kaley Martin (Cypress/Cypress Woods), Kristen Cox(Utopia/Utopia), and Kristen Laird (Seguin/Seguin) - were named Monday to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.
The Bulldogs were joined on the WGCA All-American Scholars list by three other Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference players: Southwestern University's Leilani McDaniel, Emily Campbell, and Julia Wofford.

Overall, a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.
Swift, a two-time All-SCAC performer and the 2018 SCAC individual champion, received the honor for a third consecutive year.
Martin also picked up her third consecutive award.
Cox was named an All-American Scholar for a second straight year, and Laird, a recent TLU graduate, received her first All-American scholar award.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA requirement is 3.50.
