#24/RV Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball Travels to Marshall For NCAA First and Second Rounds

SEGUIN, Texas -- The #24/RV Texas Lutheran women's basketball team learned Monday that they will be staying relatively close to home, traveling to Marshall, Texas for the first and second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament at Ornelas Gymnasium on the campus of East Texas Baptist University this weekend.

The Bulldogs will take on host #18/19 East Texas Baptist in their first round game on Friday, March 7. The other teams traveling to Marshall will be McMurry and Cal Lutheran. McMurry will face off against Cal Lutheran at 4:45 PM on Friday and the Bulldogs will face the Tigers at 7:15 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.

Texas Lutheran will make their third appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The last time Texas Lutheran appeared in the NCAA Tournament was 2019.

The Bulldogs are 23-4 on the season, tying a program record for wins, and have won 9 of their last 10 games. Texas Lutheran has a 15-2 record away from Memorial Gymnasium this season.

Senior guard Kailee Mulkey (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) earned a place on the All-SCAC First Team while junior guard Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) earned Second Team honors. Mulkey also took home the SCAC Tournament MVP. Juniors Sarahi Jones (Los Fresnos/Los Fresnos) and Angelina Sotelo (San Marcos/San Marcos) landed All-SCAC honorable mention honors while Zaria Solis (Burnet/Burnet) was named to the SCAC All-Freshman Team.

In his fourth season as head coach in Seguin, head coach Troy Patterson has a record of 73-31 (.702). Patterson has led the Bulldogs to a pair of 20 win seasons as well as a 2025 SCAC regular season Gold Division Co-Championship and 2025 SCAC Tournament Championship. Patterson has been named SCAC Coach of the Year in two of his four seasons (2022, 2024) at the helm of the Bulldogs program.
