Women's Basketball Picked Third in SCAC Preseason Poll

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its preseason women's basketball poll on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were selected to finish third in the conference, garnering 101 points, in a vote by the league's head coaches.

#RV Trinity tops the order of finish with 119 points, with Colorado College, Texas Lutheran, McMurry, Austin College, and Schreiner rounding out the top of the league with Colorado College and TLU also receiving first place votes. Ozarks (AR), Southwestern, Dallas, Concordia (TX), St. Thomas, and Centenary round out the bottom half.

Texas Lutheran is coming off just the fourth 20-win season in program history, finishing 20-6 with a 13-3 conference record in 2023-24. Head Coach Troy Patterson was named SCAC Coach of the Year by the league's coaches and media, an honor he earned for the second time in three seasons as coach. The Bulldogs return four out of their five All-SCAC honorees from last season in Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST), Kailee Mulkey (New Braunfels/New Braunfels), Kayla Presley (Kyle/San Marcos), and Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens). The Bulldogs boast a roster that features 15 returners from a season ago while adding four freshmen to the talented roster.
