Four Bulldogs Earn All-SCAC Women's Basketball Honors

SEGUIN, Texas -- Four members of the Texas Lutheran University Women's Basketball program earned 2022-23 All-SCAC honors, the league office announced Saturday.

Sophomore guard Kailee Mulkey (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) earned her third career SCAC honor, earning her first career All-SCAC First Team honor after being named All-SCAC Honorable Mention and SCAC All-Freshman a year ago.

Freshman guard Lauren Sansano (San Antonio/FEAST) was named to the All-SCAC Third Team while also earning a spot on the SCAC All-Freshman team.

Senior guard Kailey Lacy (Pflugerville/Hendrickson) and freshman forward Davi'Yanna Jones (San Antonio/Stevens) rounded out the Bulldogs' recognitions as they were both tabbed All-SCAC Honorable Mention with Jones adding additional All-Freshman team honors.

Mulkey appeared in all 26 contests (22 starts) this season averaging 11.7 points per game - ranking fifth in the SCAC. The New Braunfels native also ranked sixth in steals, averaging 2.0 steals a game, and tenth in rebounds at 5.2 rebounds per game.

Sansano appeared in 24 contests (14 starts) ranking second on the team in scoring averaging 10.3 points per game to go along 52 assists and 33 steals. Sansano finishes the 2023 season leading the SCAC and second in all of NCAA Division-III in free throw percentage, shooting an outstanding 92.6 percent from the charity stripe, a new TLU single-season record. The 92.6-percent mark ranks second in SCAC history for a single-season. Sansano also ranks seventh in three-point field goal percentage shooting 35.33percent from beyond the arc.

Lacy, who has appeared in 23 contests (15 starts), led the Bulldogs and ranked sixth in the SCAC with a 37.6 three-point field goal percentage while averaging 5.8 points per game.

Jones, who appeared in 23 contests (1 start) this season, was a defensive specialist for the Bulldogs as a freshman and was instrumental in the Bulldogs SCAC-leading defense. Jones averaged 6.1 points, ranking third on the team, and 3.3 rebounds per game.
