Twenty-two Texas Lutheran basketball players named to SCAC Winter Academic Honor Roll

SEGUIN, Texas -- Twenty-two Texas Lutheran basketball players have been named to the 2020 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll.
 
Fifteen TLU Women's Basketball players made the awards list. Seven TLU Men's Basketball players received the honor.
 
To qualify, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
 
TLU Women's Basketball honorees included: Jovanna Adame (Brownsville/Los Frenos), Olivia Balderas (San Antonio/Incarnate Word), Dominique Campos (Laredo/Alexander), Cami Davis (Marion/Marion), Jordan Estrada (Alamogordo, N.M./Marion), Kasey Hairell (Hallettsville/Hallettsville), Abby Hroch (Port Lavaca/Calhoun), Anna Koenig (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg), Kailey Lacy (Pflugerville/Hendrickson), Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson), Ashley Reyes (Karnes City/Karnes City), Morgan Rodriguez (New Braunfels/Canyon), Jayla Santa Maria (Edinburg/Edinburg), Sydney Shaw (Lockhart/Lockhart), and Taylor Skurka (Cibolo/Steele).
 
TLU Men's Basketball honorees included: Jorden Kite (San Antonio/Clark), Jamir Mason (Pearland/St. Thomas Episcopal), Noah Rodriguez (San Antonio/San Antonio Christian), Noah Sekinger (Edinburg/Vela), Trystin Silas (Seguin/Seguin), Andi Vrapcani (Pristina, Kosovo/Irion County (Texas)), and JT Watson (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg).
 
A total of 359 SCAC student-athletes made the winter list.

Since its inception in the fall of 1997, just over 28,500 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

The 359 winter honorees are the most for the conference since moving to a separate winter listing prior to the 2015-16 academic year and 94 more than last year's honor roll listing. The winter list includes the sports of men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming.
