Austin College rolls past Texas Lutheran for conference road victory

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Austin College Kangaroos rolled to an 89-59 road win Saturday at Texas Lutheran.
 
Austin College bounced back from consecutive losses (the team's first two setbacks of the season) to dominate the defending conference champion on its home floor.
 
Saturday's meeting was the first match-up between the two teams since TLU (as the No. 3 seed) knocked Austin College (the No. 2 seed) out of last year's conference tournament in the semifinal round.
 
The Kangaroos improved to 13-2 overall and to 6-2 in in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
TLU fell to 7-9 overall and to 5-4 in the SCAC.
 
Austin College out-scored TLU 40-16 in the paint and 27-5 on fast breaks.
 
The Kangaroos finished the night at 49.2 percent shooting overall and 36.0 percent from the three-point line.
 
TLU shot just 27.9 percent for the game and 21.1 percent (8-for-38) from the arc.
 
Reagan Chiaverini led the Roos with 19 points and six rebounds. Ann Savage added 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
 
Dominique Campos led TLU with 16 points. Cami Davis chipped in 10. Morgan Rodriguez collected nine rebounds and scored five points.
 
TLU continues conference play next weekend with road games at Trinity (on Friday) and Schreiner (on Saturday).
