Bio

Kyla Lockley '18 was hired as an assistant softball coach and TLU athletics facilities director in the summer of 2022 and enters her third season with her alma mater in 2025.

Once a student-athlete (2017-18) for the Bulldogs, Lockley has assisted the Bulldogs to consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament since her return Seguin, including back-to-back SCAC Regular Season Championships and the 2024 SCAC Tournament Championships. Under her tutelage, outfielder Annie Kay became one of the first two Rawlings Gold Glove award winners in program history in 2024. Lockley was also a part of the 2024 TLU Staff that earned NFCA Region X Coaching Staff of the Year honors. The Texas Lutheran outfield has earned four All-SCAC honors under Lockley's guidance with Annie Kay earning NFCA All-Region honors in 2024.

Lockley rejoins the Texas Lutheran softball program after working with Alliance Fastpitch.

A highly accomplished collegiate athlete, Lockley made waves in her time as player with the TLU softball program after transferring in from Galveston College as third baseman and catcher, earning NFCA First Team All-Region honors her senior year. Lockley finished her TLU career third all-time in career batting average (.393) and stolen bases (72). Her senior season she stole a then-record of 43 stolen bases in 2018. Lockley finished her two seasons at TLU with 72 stolen bases in 75 attempts. She finished her TLU career having never lost a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season or conference tournament game. The Bulldogs were 41-0 in the SCAC regular-season with Lockley in two seasons. In SCAC Softball Championship play, Lockley and the Bulldogs were 6-0.
