White Earns SCAC Weekly Honor

SEGUIN, Texas -- No. 6 Texas Lutheran Softball's Amanda White (Lockhart/Lockhart) was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced today. The honor is the third in White's career and Texas Lutheran's second SCAC Pitcher of the Week of the season.

In two starts against Southwestern over the weekend, White limited the Pirates offense to just one unearned run and zero extra base hits in 8.0 innings of work. In Friday night's matchup against Southwestern, the senior outdueled the opposition in the Bulldogs 3-0 shutout win, a win that saw White limit the Pirates to three hits in three innings.

White returned in the series finale to shut down the Pirates, tossing a two-hit, complete game shutout. White would strike out just one batter but limited the Pirates to three baserunners in five innings.

For the season, White is 15-0 with a 0.83 earned run average (ERA), 60 strikeouts in 92.2 innings of work while limiting opponents to just a .170 batting average. She's allowed just 11 earned runs and four extra base hits this season. White currently ranks third in NCAA Division-III in wins (15) and saves (4) while ranking in the top 20 nationally in ERA, starts, hits allowed per seven innings, and innings pitched. White was named to the NFCA Player/Pitcher of the Year Watch List last week.

Texas Lutheran continues their final nine-game homestand next weekend as they welcome the Schreiner University Mountaineers to Ed Kruse Stadium for a three-game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12. First pitch is slated for 1 PM with the game being broadcast on TLU+.
