Texas Lutheran Falls 3-1 to St. Thomas
SEGUIN, Texas -- The 8th-ranked Texas Lutheran softball team fell 3-1 to St. Thomas at Ed Kruse Stadium Friday night, snapping its 16-game season-opening win streak.
Texas Lutheran (16-1, 8-1 SCAC) scored once in the first inning but was stymied the rest of the way by the Celts (11-5, 10-2 SCAC).
Ainsley Davis (Rockwall/Jesuit (OR)) struck out two in a hard-luck loss, her first of the season, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk across 4.1 innings of relief. Amanda White (Lockhart/Lockhart) got the start and allowed one run on four hits and two walks over 2.2 innings.
TLU opened the game hot, plating a run in the first as Serena Gonzalez (Corpus Christi/Foy H. Moody) brought Annie Kay (Sinton/Sinton) home with an RBI fielder's choice. Texas Lutheran stranded four runners in scoring position Friday night.
St. Thomas took its decisive lead in the fifth following an infield single and TLU error.

Harleigh Russell (Fort Worth/Boswell) and Faith Hernandez (Dinuba, CA/Dinuba) provided the Bulldogs only multi-hit efforts.
