Texas Lutheran's Kayla Oliveira, Chassety Raines named SCAC Players of the Week
SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior right-hander Kayla Oliveira and sophomore outfielder Chassety Raines have been named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week.
Oliveira is the SCAC Co-Pitcher of the Week, with Southwestern's Lindsey Longuet. Raines is the SCAC Hitter of the Week.
Oliveira notched a pair of pitching victories last week and did not allow an earned run in 12 innings of work.
Oliveira tossed a complete-game, one-hitter in the 12-0 win over Baldwin-Wallace in Tucson, Ariz. She struck out four and walked two in that win.
Against Trinity, she pitched six shutout innings, walking one and striking out five.
For the year, Oliveira is 7-1 with a 1.05 ERA.

Raines hit .571 over five games, all TLU victories, last week as the second-ranked Bulldogs improved to 19-1 and to 5-0 in the SCAC.
Raines was 6-for-6 on March 9 in victories over Bethany Lutheran and Baldwin Wallace with a pair of doubles, a triple and three RBI.
In the doubleheader sweep of Trinity, Raines scored four runs and had two stolen bases.
For the week, Raines' on-base percentage was .571, and her slugging percentage was 1.000.

Senior Lindsey Longuet of Southwestern picked up the win in both games of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of Concordia (Texas), working 14.0 innings while allowing just a combined eight hits and one earned run. The league's leader in strikeouts with 79, the senior struck out 14 batters while walking four in the two wins. Junior pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity allowed just two runs and scattered seven hits over a complete-game effort against defending national champion Texas Lutheran over the weekend, closing out the 2020 season.

Senior first baseman Danielle Ruiz of Trinity had three hits in the last four games of the year for the Tigers, including a 2-or-3 performance against Texas Lutheran in the 2020 finale. She also drove in the game-winning run against Washington College in the 10th inning on Monday, and picked up the team's only RBI of the game in Saturday's finale.
