Texas Lutheran Competes in Trinity Last Chance Meet
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field team continued their push to the 2025 NCAA Division-III National Championships as the Bulldogs traveled a small contingent to San Antonio to compete in the Trinity Last Chance Meet in San Antonio on Sunday.
Cutter Clancy (Stockdale/Stockdale) was the bright spot for the Bulldogs on Sunday, winning the javelin throw with a winning mark of 48.68m (159-9.00).
Shayne Moss (San Marcos/San Marcos) finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.01m (23-0.00).
Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan), who is locked in to make the championships by ranking 11th in Division-III in the pole vault, finished third overall and first amongst Division-III competitors on Sunday with a mark of 4.60m (15-1.00).
Braylen Brown, who enters the final week of regular season competition ranking 17th nationally in the 400m dash, ran a time of 48.95 seconds in the 400m on Sunday to finish third.
Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton) finished third overall and first amongst Division-III competitors in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.83 seconds.
The SCAC champion Texas Lutheran 4x400m relay team comprised of freshmen Gavino Ramirez (Alice/Alice), Eden Perez, Braylen Brown, and Caden Keller (McAllen/McAllen), continued to compete for one of the final qualifying spots in the 2025 national champions on Sunday, finishing third with a time of 3:16.85. The team currently ranks 37th nationally and will have one final chance to move back up the national leaderboard later this week.

A small group of Bulldogs will travel to Rock Island, Illinois, later this week to compete in the Augustana Last Chance meet May 14-15 as the Bulldogs continue their push towards national qualification.
