Bulldogs in Fifth after Day Two of SCAC Championships

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field program continued competition at the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Saturday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. Texas Lutheran sits in fifth place in the men's standings with 29.5 points behind meet leader McMurry, who leads with 88 points. Saturday featured event finals in jumps, throws, and distance competition while sprint events had preliminary competition.

Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) finished second in the high jump after netting a season-best mark of 2.02m (6-7.50).

Freshman Amir McClain (Converse/Veterans Memorial) finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.94m (45-8.75). McClain also added 1.5 points to the Bulldogs team total with a seventh place finish in the high jump (1.87m).

Beau Hill (Salado/Salado) added two points for the Bulldogs with a seventh place finish in the hammer throw with a final mark of 40.32m (132-3.00).

Braylen Brown, who entered the SCAC Championships with the lead time in the 400m dash, finished with the third fastest qualifying time on Saturday, finishing with a time of 48.33 seconds.

Weston Guzman (McAllen/McAllen), who finished as the runner-up in the 100m dash at last year's championships, qualified for Sunday's finals with a 10.61 qualifying time.

Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton) and Jacob Grissom (Thrall/Thrall) both qualified for the 400m hurdles with Franks winning his heat with a time of 56.61 seconds.

Freshman Hezekiah McDow will represent the Bulldogs in the 200m dash after winning his heat with a 21.77 qualifying time.

The Bulldogs continue their pursuit of a SCAC title on Sunday in Seguin, with the day's starting gun set to fire at 8 AM. The meet will be streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
