Acero Sets Program Record at 2025 SCAC Championships
SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's track and field program opened the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships with record-breaking marks on Friday at Bulldog Stadium on the campus of Texas Lutheran University. Texas Lutheran sits in a tie with Colorado College for fourth place in the men's standings with 12 points behind meet leader McMurry, who leads with 42 points.
Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan), who has finished fourth in the javelin throw at the SCAC championships the past two seasons, finally broke through to medal at the event, breaking the TLU program record in the process. Acero finished with a mark of 57.37m (188-3.00) to finish third in the event. Cutter Clancy (Stockdale/Stockdale) added two points for the Bulldogs with a seventh place finish in the javelin throw with a mark of 49.05m (160-11.00).
Shayne Moss (San Marcos/San Marcos) added four points to the Bulldogs team total with a fifth place finish in the long jump, ending the event with a final mark of 6.55m.
