Texas Lutheran Climbs National Leaderboard at Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran track and field competed in the Trinity Invitational hosted by Trinity University over the course of two days in San Antonio in a meet that hosted nearly 700 athletes from all three levels of the NCAA as well as NAIA and JUCO athletes.

Braylen Brown finished third in the 200m dash with a time of 21.73 seconds while Hezekiah McDow and Wyatt Wilson (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) finished sixth and eighth respectively with times of 21.89 and 22.17 seconds. Wilson also finished fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 10.8 seconds while Gilbert Dominguez Jr. (Round Rock/Stony Point) finished eighth at 10.89 seconds. Gavino Ramirez (Alice/Alice) clocked in at 49.43 seconds in the 400m dash to finish 11th overall and seventh amongst Division-III sprinters.

Gabriel Ceballos (San Antonio/Smithson Valley) finished 14th overall and eighth amongst Division-III runners in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.79. Lucas Falcon (Victoria/Victoria East) finished 10th overall and sixth amongst Division-III runners in the 5000m run finishing in 16:17.39.

Rickey Franks (Rockport/Rockport-Fulton) finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.33 seconds while Parker Cabra (Schertz/Randolph) finished sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.76 seconds. Cabra also finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 2.01m (6' 7") to move into a tie for tenth nationally. 

The Texas Lutheran 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams each finished in third place. The 4x100m relay team comprised of Dominguez Jr., Wilson, Brown, and Eden Perez ran a season-best time of 41.73 seconds. While the 4x400m relay team comprised of Ramirez, Perez, Brown, and Caden Keller (McAllen/McAllen) ran a season-best time of 3:14.81 to finish first amongst Division-III relay teams and move into fourth nationally in the event.

Ezra Acero (San Antonio/Harlan) finished third in the pole vault with a final mark of 4.58m (15' 0.25").

In throws, Cutter Clancy (Stockdale/Stockdale) finished fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 49.40m (162' 1").
