Track and Field's Dalon Harris Named SCAC Field Athlete of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran thrower Dalon Harris (Garland/Lakeview Centennial) has been tabbed the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Men's Co-Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at the 2024 D3 Challenge hosted by Texas Lutheran, according to a league announcement Tuesday. Harris shares the honors with Matthew Hicks, a junior jumper from St. Thomas.

This marks the second time this season Harris has earned the honor and third time in the sophomore's career. Texas Lutheran has won SCAC Field Athlete of the Week three out of four weeks the honor has been awarded in 2024.

Harris, who was the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week his last time out, won the shot put with a mark of 14.24m (46' 8.75") and the discus throw with a mark of 46.46m (152' 5"). Harris currently ranks second nationally in the shot put and moved into the top ten nationally with his discus mark on Saturday.
