Seven Bulldogs Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors
NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Seven Bulldogs: Ezra Acero (San Antonio//Harlan), Weston Guzman (McAllen/McAllen), Dalon Harris (Garland/Lakeview Centennial), Elijah Jefferson (San Antonio/Construction Careers Academy), Bryce Powell-Chimene (Dayton/Dayton), Gerrit Twitero (McQueeney/Seguin), and Wyatt Wilson (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) secured All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA for their incredible outdoor seasons. All-Region honors for the 2023 NCAA Division-III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Friday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
Ezra Acero earned All-Region honors in the pole vault (4.91m), his third All-Region honor, also earning the recognition in the event in the last two indoor seasons.
Dalon Harris was recognized for his performance in the shot put (15.25m), ranking third in the West Region.
Gerrit Twitero, an All-Region honoree and NCAA Division-III Indoor National Championship qualifier during the indoor season, enters the 2023 NCAA Division-III National Championships as the best high jumper in the country with a mark of 2.10m.
Elijah Jefferson, also an All-Region honoree and NCAA Division-III Indoor National Championship qualifier, earns All-Region honors in the 100m (10.47 seconds), 200m (21.05 seconds) and as a member of the Texas Lutheran 4x100m relay team,who ran a SCAC Championship record time of 40.91 seconds, earning the honors alongside Weston Guzman, Bryce Powell-Chimene, and Wyatt Wilson.
The seven add to the list of All-Region honors for TLU Men's Track and Field in 2023 as Acero, Weston Geiger (Shiner/St. Paul), Harris, Jefferson, Powell-Chimene, and Twitero all earned All-Region honors during the indoor season.
