GENEVA, OH -- Texas Lutheran throwers Zachary Herman (Austin/Lake Travis) and Scottie Reyes (Dilley/Dilley) competed in their final competitions of the 2022 season at the 2022 NCAA Division-III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Reyes and Herman, who entered ranked 16th and 20th respectively in the shot put in Division-III, finished 16th and 19th at the national championships. Reyes would finish with a final mark of 14.61-meters while Herman's final mark would be 13.73-meters. Joseph White of Carthage College won the event with a 17.85-meter mark.

Coach Holland's Comments: Both Scottie and Herm had great seasons! They both were in the top 20 in D3 and they were the top D3 throwers in Texas! That's a huge accomplishment. They both worked hard all year to make this happen; often with three practices in one day. They had big goals while here and the cards just didn't fall in their favor. Not what we wanted, but sometimes that's just how it ends. They represented TLU well and kudos to them for the great season they had this year!
