Reyes Opens NCAA Championships for TLU

GENEVA, OH -- Texas Lutheran thrower Scottie Reyes (Dilley/Dilley) opened the 2022 Division-III NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Thursday.

Reyes, who entered the championships ranked ninth nationally in the discus throw, would finish 16th with a mark of 47.11-meters. Steven Hermsen of Carroll (Wisconsin) would win the event with a mark of 54.93m.

Reyes and Zachary Herman (Austin/Lake Travis) will compete in Texas Lutheran's final event tomorrow as they both compete in the shot put. Reyes and Herman enter ranked 16th and 20th respectively in the shot put in Division-III entering tomorrow's competition. The event is tentatively scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM EST/12:30 PM CST and can be viewed on ncaa.com.
