SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Track and Field will send the record breaking duo of Elijah Jefferson (San Antonio/Construction Careers Academy) and Gerrit Twitero (McQueeney/Seguin) to the 2023 NCAA Division-III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships that are to be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex on March 10-11 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Elijah Jefferson, fresh off setting a program record in the indoor 200m dash at the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier, will compete in the 200m dash. Jefferson enters the event tied for 15th in the country with a season-best time of 21.58 seconds.

Gerrit Twitero, the program record holder in both the indoor and outdoor high jump, is set to compete in the high jump. Twitero enters the Championships tied for 8th nationally on the indoor qualifying list with a season-best mark of 2.05 meters.

When reached for comment, Coach Darlene Holland stated, "So happy to see that the hard work of both Gerrit and Elijah has paid off. We are heading there with the intention of aiming for top 8 in each event. Coming home with hardware is always our goal when we make NCAAs!"
