Bulldogs Win Third Straight, Beat Mountaineers 6-1
KERRVILLE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's tennis team concluded the 2025 regular season with a dominant 6-1 win over Schreiner Wednesday afternoon in Kerrville for their third straight victory. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 7-3 and will finish .500 or above in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the 2014-15 seasons.
Cash Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) took the No. 1 doubles match with a 7-5 score. The team of Revel Wicks (Portland/Gregory-Portland) and Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou) won their match 6-3 to secure the doubles point.
The Bulldogs would win five of six singles matches on Wednesday. It took Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) three sets to pick up the win in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.
Cash Herrera, Eric Moninger, Logan Randall, and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) would all win their matches in straight sets with Figueroa not dropping a single point in his 6-0, 6-0 win.
Texas Lutheran will now shift its focus to the 2025 SCAC Championship Tournament hosted by Colorado College in Waco, Texas, starting on Friday, April 25.
