Men's Tennis Sweeps Sul Ross State

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's tennis team swept Division-II Sul Ross State for the second time this weekend Saturday morning at TLU's Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center. The win marks the 15th straight victory over the Lobos dating back to 2012.

Texas Lutheran swept in both doubles and singles competition.

Texas Lutheran entered doubles play with an advantage by virtue of winning a match by default. TLU clinched the doubles point by sweeping the two matches that were physically played on Saturday. After sitting out yesterday's double competition on Friday, the team of Cash Herrera (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and the team of Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Evan Salinas (Kerrville/Tivy) both won their matches by the score of 6-0.

TLU automatically won two points in singles competition by default before Revel Wicks (Portland/Gregory-Portland), Logan Randall (Idalou/Idalou), Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman), and JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) won their matches in straight sets.

The Bulldogs will continue to face higher level competition as Texas Lutheran welcomes Division-I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to the ORTC on Thursday, April 3, at 11:30 AM.
