TLU Drops 4-3 Decision to LeTourneau

WACO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis fell to LeTourneau 4-3, in non-conference action in Waco as the two teams made up the suspended match from February.

The Bulldogs (2-2) dropped the doubles point and claimed straight set singles decisions on courts two and three. Texas Lutheran swept the bottom-half of singles play but the YellowJackets clinched the match on three in a match that took all three sets to decide.

The Bulldogs were swept in doubles competition with the team of JT Figueroa (New Braunfels/John Paul II) and Kadon Sullins (Kyle/Lehman) needing a tiebreaker to decide their match, 7-6.

Texas Lutheran and LeTourneau would split their singles matches 3-3 and were a decisive third set in #3 singles from stealing the neutral site match.

Figueroa and Jackson Leslie (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) would win their dual matches in straight sets while Kadon Sullins would need a decisive third set to pull out the singles win. Figueroa & Leslie both won their matches by a score of 6-2, 6-2, while Sullins won 4-6, 7-5, 10-4.

Up next, Texas Lutheran returns to Seguin for their first SCAC home match of the 2025 season against McMurry on Friday, March 28, followed by a non-conference match against Sul Ross State. First serve is set for 9 AM against the War Hawks and 2 PM against Lobos.
