Bulldogs Fall to McMurry, 7-2

ABILENE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis dropped their road non-conference match to McMurry 7-2, Saturday afternoon at Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center in Abilene to fall to 0-2 on the season.

The Bulldogs squad were swept in doubles competition. The team of Eric Moninger (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) and Xavier Cristan (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff) pushed their match to a 6-8 finish.

Brody Smith (New Braunfels/Canyon) and Xavier Cristan would pick up their first singles wins of the season and their TLU careers on Saturday. Both Bulldogs would win in straight sets with Smith winning 6-4, 7-6 and Cristan winning 6-4, 6-4.

Up next, Texas Lutheran returns to the Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center for the 2023 home opener against East Texas Baptist on Feb. 10. First serve is set for 3 PM.
